Well I am 40 weeks as of yesterday! I feel pretty much the same as I have the past few weeks, no difference really! Except the fact that I have a wicked cold and feel miserable because of that, combined with heartburn. Oh and the fact that I am huge and 40 weeks pregnant probably contributes to how I'm feeling. :)
Everyday people text me and call me to see if the baby is born. Trust me people, I (or Trav) will let you know! It's making me feel anxious and pressured to get this baby out, which is actually the opposite of how I really feel about the baby coming. I am totally okay with the fact that I have gone "past" my due date. 40 weeks gestation isn't an exact science, it's an average. Each woman is different, along with each baby. We will not be pressured to induce labor. I trust my body and my baby to know what to do, and he will come when he is good and ready.
That being said, we are definitely ready for him! I am excited to meet him and see how adorable he is. We have the room all ready (barring a few last minute decoration ideas) and we can't wait to actually have him here.
Here's some pictures of the baby's room!

The dresser and crib are from Walmart. The rocking chair/recliner was free! It came from my in-laws cabin and then it was in storage for a little while. They were nice enough to let us call dibs! So we cleaned it off and put it in the baby's room. It's a similar color to the carpet so we put the little gray rug underneath so it would set it apart.

The blanket on the chair was made by my Aunt Denise. she matched the colors to the baby's room perfectly! The little round end table is from IKEA. I made the curtains on the window.

Now for the crib! My friend Melanie and I went shopping for the fabric and then pretty much handed it over to my mom. She sewed to her hearts content and made this awesome crib bedding. She did a fantastic job, thanks mom!!

My mother-in-law made this super cute minky blanket to match the crib and baby's room. It is really soft and we can't wait to wrap our baby in it!

And for the blank wall.... something needs to go there. On the left adjacent wall we will put a picture of Jesus with the children. Above the crib?? I'm thinking a cute little banner or a mobile or something. I've got time to figure it out.

The closet. Boring, yeah? We got cute matching knobs from IKEA. Just helped to tie the room together.

And now for my organizational skills... which again, my mom helped. We sorted clothes, jackets, onesies, socks, etc and now they all have their designated place.

Here are some pictures of his little outfits that I adore and can't wait to see him wear.

And the cute beanies!

Again, organization. These are all newborn to 3 month outfits and pajamas.

Here are my cloth diapers. As you can see, I have some newborn disposables, prefolds for newborns and infants and then my GroVia diapers! I'm partial to this brand of cloth diapers and I can't wait to use them. The covers are really cute! I have a different post for a different day about cloth diapers. Maybe I should have my friend Melanie do a guest posting since she is pretty much the cloth diapering queen and I am constantly asking her advice. :)

Next, the carseat canopy. My mom made this as well. (Can you tell that I like to ask my mom to sew everything for me?) She did a fantastic job and it looks great.

She has an attention for detail. :)

And for practice we put the little sock monkey in there so I can learn how to buckle and unbuckle the straps as well as get him in a good position. I am so excited for our little guy, don't be surprised if you see me driving around with the carseat already installed in my backseat. I'm just practicing. :)

There you have it! I'm doing great and taking it easy as I try to kick this cold and get ready for the baby. I want to be completely healthy before he is born, so I don't mind waiting a few days. I must be able to kiss my baby! If not, it would drive me crazy. PLUS, my dad doesn't get back from Mexico until Saturday. There is a very good chance this little boy is waiting for his Grandpa. As always, we will keep you posted.
