mmm SPAM

Hey all.....

It seems that we have been victims of a little spameroni. I got several emails from people (friends and colleagues) with only a link in the body of the email... nothing else. If you receive these, don't open it, just delete them. I got one from a friend and I opened it and even clicked on the link because I didn't know why she would be sending me the info... now Travis and I seem to be sending out spam through our emails. We sincerely apologize. I don't really know what happened!

Not sure what to do about it, but it seems to be going around REALLY fast. I got 3 emails in 10 minutes from a co-worker and 2 people that used to be in my old ward. The emails are spilling in like crazy.

Just a word of caution.

I got five this morning and three last week. It's a little nuts.

KSL commented tonight on the 10pm news that 1 in 4 people have been attacked by this same spam, ending in .au something like that, and that it may not matter if you clicked on the blue link or NOT, just opening the email may have caused the problem. The worst part of this (they reported it)...is that it becomes a part of a MUCH LARGER problem, that the hackers might be able to get ahold of your entire computer...everything. You may want to look on KSL for what they reported. 1 in 4 have been hacked. I might have been too, I don't know. I got tons of these today from people I haven't heard from in years. Just be careful. :) I'm sure this will be in the news for a few days, with this many people being hacked into.

http://www.ksl.com/?nid=148&sid=13231740 is the link to the KSL story, to verify. It sends you into a bot net and it's really potentially dangerous. Be informed. 1 in 4 is a big number. yikes.
