only boring people get bored

I love this time of year! My favorite seasons are summer and early fall (before it starts to cool down). Bring on the heat! I love being outdoors and going hiking and riding my bike and working hard! It's so much fun!

There are a billion things to do during the summertime. The possibilities are endless, and you don't even have to spend money! I am compiling a fun list of things I want to do this summer with Travis and friends.

With all these wonderful things to do, I wonder... how can anyone be bored? Then I remembered a saying my mother in law told me a while back.

We were talking about how kids these days don't really get out of the house much cuz they're stuck to the tv screens playing video games, or watching movies/television. She told me about how there was a lesson in church given about really paying attention during our church meetings and not playing or texting on our phones, and worse... dozing off to nap.

During the meeting people commented that their children always say how boring church is, and 3 hours of church is way too much. That is one of the main complaints children have about almost anything these days, whether it be work (for some), church, school, extracurricular activities or even just being at home; they always say they're bored. My mother in law heard someone say this during the meeting:

"Only boring people get bored."

I loved it! It's stuck with me, and ever since then I've made it a personal goal of mine to never say I'm bored, and mostly.... to just never BE bored.
